USET National Award Winners, Medal Finals Champions and Grand Prix Riders to Participate

Antioch, IL – November 21, 2016 –The founding father of hunt seat equitation, George H. Morris, will work with top riders at the Chicago area clinic at Annali-Brookwood Farm November 25-27, 2016.  Diane Carney/Telluride, has organized the prestigious clinic for 31 years, which draws talented riders eager to school their horses with the legendary Morris and auditors who benefit just as much. This year is no exception.

Grand prix rider Richard Rinehart of Carmel, Indiana, takes advantage of the clinic to assess and sharpen his horses that are at the grand prix level. Rinehart was the recipient of the Maxine Beard Show Jumping Rider Award in 2001. The award is presented to young riders who show great potential to represent this country in Nations Cup competitions and international championships. Previous recipients of the award include Kent Farrington, who also participated in the Chicago George Morris clinics, Jessica Springsteen, Charlie Jayne, Brianne Goutal and Katie Dinan. Rinehart will be riding a young grand prix horse owned by Virginia Bartholomay that he will continue to move up in the jumper divisions for the 2017 show season.

The 2016 ASPCA Maclay Medal Finals Champion Hunter Holloway of Topeka, Kansas, has participated in the Chicago clinic for several years leading up to her recent National Championships. Her victories this past fall include earning the Champion U25 Rider Award with VDL Bravo S at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show, winning the Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) Equitation Championships and claiming the Best Junior Rider title at the WIHS followed by the Maclay Championship. Holloway looks forward to working with Morris each year to fine tune her riding and her horses before their Equi-Venture Farm heads to Florida for the winter. Holloway is another example of how Morris’ training techniques and philosophies lead to success, as it has for many riders throughout the years.

Another up and coming junior rider, Kyle Perkovich, Long Grove, Illinois, has ridden in the Chicago clinic before and is returning to continue to improve his skills to move up the jumper ranks. This year, Perkovich, at only 15 years old, earned the top spot in the $150,000 Marshall & Sterling 1.30m Grand Prix Series hosted by Showplace Productions. Perkovich with his mount Roc My World, rides with grand prix rider Lisa Goldman, who also usually rides in the clinic each year but is taking some time off after showing in Europe with the Developing Riders Team.

Professional riders and clinic hosts, Rush and Caroline Weeden, will be riding with Morris. Rush will be riding another grand prix prospect owned by Virginia Bartholomay and top hunter derby rider, Caroline, will be sharpening up for the upcoming show season in Wellington, Florida.
