USHJA Zone 5 Information

Thanks for your feedback that this is a helpful format. We wanted to send you an update to highlight important upcoming dates for USHJA programs. Don't miss this chance for you or your clients to participate today.
Deadline Program Why Apply?
May 14 Children's and Adult Amateur Hunter Central Regional Championships, presented by SmartPak 
(Zones 6 & 7)
New team competition aspect for Ch/AA Hunter riders and the chance to earn Zone HOTY Bonus Points. Be sure to check where your clients stand on the appropriate qualifying lists!
May 15 Application due for review in June for the USHJA Trainer Certification Program, presented by Markel Insurance. Fulfill the educational requirement of the TCP application by attending a 2016 Trainer Certification Program Clinic Show your commitment to professional development. Apply by May 15 to have your TCP application reviewed in June. Applicants must complete the educational component within one year of the application date.
May 20 Children's and Adult Amateur Hunter West Regional Championships, presented by SmartPak 
(Zones 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12)
New team competition aspect for Ch/AA Hunter riders and the chance to earn Zone HOTY Bonus Points. Be sure to check where your clients stand on the appropriate qualifying lists!
May 26 Last day to apply for possible 3-foot section at Emerging Athletes Program Regional Training Sessions, presented by Dover Saddlery, in Colorado, Illinois, Nebraska, Oregon and Texas. Opportunity for riders at the 3' level to get the EAP experience. Riders must submit applications by May 26. Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis, after EAP riders are accommodated.
June 1 Last day to enroll in the Pre-Green Incentive Program for $550. Enrollment increases to $750 on June 2.  Enrolled horses are eligible to compete in Pre-Green Stake Classes, the Pre-Green Incentive Championship, and earn Championship Bonus Prize Money. Tier II riders are also eligible for bonus prize money. 
June 1 Last day to enroll in the International Hunter Derby Program for $550. Enrollment increases to $750 on June 2. Enrolled horses are eligible for inclusion on regional and national money won tracking lists and to participate in the International Hunter Derby Championship.
June 11 Children's and Adult Amateur Hunter North Regional Championships, presented by SmartPak
(Zones 1, 2 & 5)
New team competition aspect for Ch/AA Hunter riders and the chance to earn Zone HOTY Bonus Points. Be sure to check where your clients stand on the appropriate qualifying lists.
July 31 Nomination Based Awards:

A.C. Randolph Owners Legacy
Nominate a deserving member for a year-end prestigious award by July 31. Winners will be announced at the 2016 USHJA Annual Meeting in Palm Springs, CA.

New Regional Hunter Championship Introduced for 2016

The Children's and Adult Amateur Hunter Regional Championships is an exciting new hunter program designed to showcase the skills of riders who compete in the Children's and Adult hunter sections across the country. The Championships provide riders with a competitive team experience and an opportunity to earn Zone Horse of the Year bonus points in their respective Children's or Adult hunter section.

Qualifying for the Championships will begin in 2015 with the first set of Regional Championships slated for 2016 between June 1 and November 30.

Zone 5  Inaugural Horseman of the Year Award
USHJA Zone 5 is pleased to announce a new award program being launched this fall.  The USHJA Zone 5 Horseman of the Year will be awarded annually and will recognize those dedicated individuals who have contributed time, knowledge, treasury and/or other assistance to the betterment of the sport.
